After the service pictures were taken, and then all of us headed to beautiful Windwood outside of Watertown for the reception. The fantastic meal and all of the speeches were spectacular! (I took quite a few pictures which my loving husband will put on the Walmart Internet Website and also in my albums. I am quite sure others also took pictures). What a blessing it was to be with our loved ones again.

After the reception, our Susie, her husband, Jim, and Laura and we headed for our home. The next morning. August 14th, we had a great visit over breakfast and then it was time for them to leave for Merrill. Jim had to preach at his church. Christ Lutheran, the next morning. We went to Sue and Tim’s home for another delicious home-cooked meal and the opening of gifts by Holly and Matt. They received many beautiful gifts. Our car was parked up the street because of there being so many. We were accompanied in our walk there by –

MEGAN AND TIMMY!!!!! THEY HAD A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!
THEY ARE EXPECTING A BABY!!!!! WOW!!!!! ANOTHER BLESSING!!!!!

They said we were the first to know (probably because we were leaving and they were going to tell all the rest of the family that evening). Anyway, we were thrilled! (When we visited Sue and Tim before that for Jonah, Addie, and Tyler’s birthdays, we were sitting out at the picnic table on the deck. Megan and Timmy were sitting behind us, and Megan said she wasn’t feeling well. I turned around and said, “Are you pregnant, Megan?” She didn’t say anything, but gave me that cute little grin she has). So I said, “I knew it! I knew it!” We are so happy for them. Commending both Megan and Timmy, they didn’t let everyone know about the baby before Holly and Matt’s wedding because they didn’t want to take anything away from their big day.

The next morning we attended the service at St. Mark’s church, and were joined by Sue, Tim, Jenny, Kevin, Joshua, Jonah, Conner, and Tyler Poston, Christopher and a friend, Rebecca Faugstad, and Julie, Tom, and Adalynn Pasch. After the service we were again invited to Sue and Tim’s home for another delicious lunch.

Megan and Timmy had left for Sparta, so weren’t there. Not one word was said about the baby. After lunch, Sue and I were sitting on the davenport. I thought, “Does she know?” Then I said, “I wonder who will get pregnant first, Megan or Holly?” I looked at her, and she looked at me. Then I said, “Do you know?” And she said, “Do you know?” And then the squealing and our excitement started. It was hilarious! Then Sue told everyone that we knew, too. Everyone was so happy! (Dick and I are blessed with 23 great-grandchildren (4 living with Jesus in heaven). God willing, Megan and Timmy’s baby will be our FIRST Mueller great-grandchild! We are thankful for every single one of our six children, spouses, 20 grandchildren (1 living with Jesus in heaven) , spouses and great grandchildren!). What a joy families are!

We had brought our swimming suits, and spent the rest of the beautiful afternoon swimming in the pool our son, Tim, had built and sitting in their great Jacuzzi. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly in the pool and Jacuzzi, especially with our little great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jonah, and Conner.

Tim is amazing and so thoughtful of others. One Sunday before a St. Mark’s church service, a Northwestern schoolmate of ours years ago was looking for a pew with his wife. As they passed us, Bill (Pastor) Hein said, “You’re famous. You have a good son.” Yes, Tim is a true child of God. I already know that Dick, my husband, Tim’s father is famous – especially in Africa where we were missionaries with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod African Mission for fifteen years (1957-1972). When we were invited by WELS to go back to Africa in 2003 for the 50th anniversary of the Zambian mission and the 40th anniversary of the Malawi mission, we were told that Dick is a “legend” on the mission fields. The African people have not forgotten him, and that love and respect were shown us when we had the privilege of being there with them in 2003. Some were in their heavenly home, but their children and grandchildren had been told about the true missionary who speaks their language and loves them dearly. I was greatly honored when we were told that there are many girl babies born who are named “Irene”, my name.

AND NOW BACK TO THE PAST

JUNE, 2009 – PEBBLES FROM THE ROC

“Every branch that does bear fruit, He (the Father) prunes so that it even will be more fruitful.” John 15:2
The teens at the ROC, at a recent Bible/Talk Time, gave many examples of what they need pruned or cut away in their lives so that their life in Christ flourishes all the more. What a joy it is to see teens, who were unbelievers, come to faith, share their faith, and flourish through Christ their Savior. Come see for yourself. Stop in at the ROC anytime.

The Jerry Kastens Memorial Golf Outing & Buffet Banquet will take place on June 28th, at the Watertown Country Club with a 4:00 tee time. If you do not golf, please come for the 3 station buffet dinner and ROC presentation. The buffet will begin around 7:00 p.m. and the cost is $16.00. For a golfer, the total cost will be $55.00 which includes green fees, team prizes drawn, flag prizes on each hole, other prizes, and the buffet. Sign up deadline for golf and meal is Monday, June 22nd. Any questions or other inquiries please contact Dale Ninmann at 920-261-5719 or daleninmann@charter.net.

Also, please prepare for the ROC Rummage Sale to be held on July23-25 at Trinity/St. Luke’s School (Western Avenue Campus). Donations of items or time would be much appreciated. We cannot accept TVs, large console stereos, large microwaves, organs, pianos, encyclopedias, bowling balls, any chemicals, tires, or any other item we may not be able to sell and may have to pay to dispose of once the sale is over. Please set aside your slightly used, clean, workable items for the sale. We are sorry, but we have no place to store donations until the sale. Thank you for your help and generosity. Volunteers are greatly needed. To volunteer or for more info, call Ruth Uttech – 920-261-6771 or Pam Erdman at 920-261-9674.”

JUNE 28, 2009 – JERRY KASTENS MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING & BUFFET BANQUET

Dick and I attended the wonderful Buffet Banquet which our son, Steve, treats us to. Every year he comes for the Golf Outing and Banquet. We look forward to the dinner (I especially love the barbecue ribs). Of course, Tim was there to welcome everyone and show a slide presentation of the activities of the teens at the ROC. Sue and many of their family members were able to be there; also Joanne and Jerry Brandt. We had a great time with all of them and many other friends of the ROC who attended.

JUNE 28 – JULY 1, 2009 – CASSIE AT “BASKETBALL CAMP”

Our oldest great-grandchild, Cassie Chmielewski, daughter of Nicki and Dave Chmielewski, attended “basketball camp” here in Watertown. Dick and I were able to see her at St. Mark’s School playing basketball with some other girls – and took pictures. Nicki, Dave, Caleb, and Debbie came to collect her on July 1st. All of us went to Hardee’s restaurant to eat. More pictures were taken. Mr. Frank Degner, a member of St. Mark’s, who we know, happened to be there and took pictures of Cassie, Nicki, Debbie, and me – 4 generations!!! We had a great time!
