I am writing this on DECEMBER 1st, Matt’s birthday, but it is 2009. We celebrated Matt’s 21st birthday Saturday, although his birthday is today. It was celebrated beforehand because he and some other members of Sue and Tim’s family could be there then. Again, there was a delicious meal – venison which came from the deer Matt shot and a mouth-watering birthday cake made by his Mom, Sue. We called Matt tonight at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, and sang “Happy Birthday” to him. He was so happy we called.

BY THE WAY, HE AND HOLLY WEISS BECAME ENGAGED ON NOVEMBER 28th. CAN YOU BELIEVE OUR BELOVED FAMILY – ONE SURPRISE AFTER ANOTHER! ALSO, MATT’S BROTHER, TIM, AND MEGAN PAGGI PLAN TO BE MARRIED ON DECEMBER 26th THIS YEAR, TRAVIS HEITSCH AND JENNA ROBBINS ON JUNE 12th, 2010, AND BRIAN WEILAND AND JESSICA BLUME ON JULY 3, 2010. WHEW!!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER NOTE: Our Debbie called today, DECEMBER 1, 2009, (MATT’S BIRTHDAY), and excitedly told us that she is Grandma and Glen is Grandpa again. Jamie, Mark’s wife, delivered a baby girl. Her name is AUBREY LEIGH WILSON. She weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and is 20” long. We are blessed with our 22nd great-grandchild. We are still waiting for a Mueller great-grandchild to be born.

AUBREY WAS BAPTIZED AT MORNING STAR EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, JACKSON, WISCONSIN ON DECEMBER 6, 2009. What a blessing and privilege it was for us to be there! The pastor of the church is Charles A. Raasch. In the bulletin it says: “Baptism – In today’s 10:30 AM service, Aubrey Leigh Wilson, daughter of Mark and Jamie Wilson, will become a child of God through the sacrament of Holy Baptism. Sponsors are David and Ann Wilson. May God bless Aubrey on this special day and preserve her in her baptismal grace all the days of her life.” After the Baptism pictures were taken, then we all gathered at Jamie and Mark’s apartment for a wonderful, delicious, meal. Again, God has blessed us with another beautiful great-grandchild – our 22nd.

AND ANOTHER NOTE: AUGUST 1, 2009 – ADALYNN SUSAN PASCH IS BORN AT WATERTOWN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, WATERTOWN, WISCONSIN

I know I am jumping ahead again to 2009 – back to August, in fact, but I just have to announce the birth of our 20th great-grandchild. As Tim, her proud grandfather, announced to everyone – “After 33 hours in the hospital and 16 hours in labor, baby Addie (Adalynn) Susan Pasch was born into the world on August 1st, 2009, by cesarean section We are so happy and thankful for this wonderful and delightful miracle of life from our gracious and good God. How happy we are that our saving God kept our daughter, Julie, and Addie safe through childbirth. Tom is also such a joy to watch as a first time proud father.”

ADALYNN SUSAN PASCH WAS BAPTIZED AT SAINT MARK’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, WATERTOWN, WISCONSIN ON AUGUST 10, 2009.

Tim baptized our beautiful little Addie over the very same marble baptismal font where her grandmother, Sue, her cousin, Conner Poston, and I, her great-grandmother, were baptized. What a special joy it was for me! Tim, Addie’s grandfather, brought a bouquet of absolutely beautiful “Resurrection Lilies” which he had picked from in front of the ROC building on Water Street. All of us sang, “I am Jesus’ little lamb, Ever glad at heart I am, For my shepherd gently guides me, Knows my needs and well provides me, Loves me ev’ry day the same, Even calls me by my name.” (It was a joyful and yet sad occasion for me. As I told the family after the Baptism, my brother, Henry passed away back in 1942 – when he was 6 and I was 11 years old. The school children sang, “I Am Jesus’ Little Lamb”. All of them passed by him in his coffin, almost at the very same spot where Adalynn was baptized. And yet I am not sad, but joyful, because I know that “Hennie”, as we called him, is living in happiness and joy in his heavenly home with Jesus.

Of course, there was a happy family get together at Sue and Tim’s, again with delicious food including a delicious cake with a cross and the words, “God’s blessing on your Baptism, Adalynn Susan Pasch”.

AND ANOTHER NOTE: AUGUST 20, 2009 – TYLER MATTHEW POSTON IS BORN AT WATERTOWN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, WATERTOWN, WISCONSIN

Here I am still back in 2009, back to August again, but I just have to announce the birth of our 21st great-grandchild. The proud parents, Kevin and Jenny (Mueller – Julie’s sister) Poston sent out a wonderful announcement with a great picture of Tyler saying he was born at 2:18 P.M., weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces, and was 19 ½ inches long. What a cutie he is!

Tim, again the proud grandfather, baptized Tyler, THE BAPTISM BEING AT THE HOSPITAL ON AUGUST 21, 2009 because Matthew, Tyler’s uncle, is the sponsor and had to get back to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. The proud grandfather, our Tim, baptized Tyler, and Pastor John Boehringer of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (where Kevin is Director of Music and third grade teacher), had a prayer. These songs were sung: “Baptized in water, Sealed by the Spirit, Cleansed by the blood of Christ our King; Heirs of salvation, Trusting His promise, Faithfully now God’s Praise we sing”. And also: “I am Jesus little lamb; Ever glad at heart I am, For my shepherd gently guides me, Knows my needs and well provides me, Loves me ev’ry day the same, Even calls me by my name.”

THE AFFIRMATION OF TYLER’S BAPTISM – SEPTEMBER 6, 2009

Dick’s and my happy and blessed 80th birthday celebration started on Page 124 of “Mom’s Memoirs” and went up to Page 127. It was a weekend full of surprises for us. The Affirmation of Tyler’s Baptism was at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watertown, Wisconsin, but since we had been at Tyler’s Baptism at Watertown Regional Medical Center, we attended services at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church because Pastor Karl Walther was going to have a very special prayer in honor of our 80th birthdays. How very thankful we are that the Lord has blessed us with long lives and showered us with His many blessings!

AND ANOTHER NOTE: DECEMBER 26, 2009 – WEDDING BELLS RING FOR MEGAN ANN PAGGI AND TIMOTHY PETER MUELLER, JR.

MEGAN AND TIM WERE UNITED IN MARRIAGE AT 1:00 PM AT ST. JOHN’S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, SPARTA, WISCONSIN. Our son, Tim, father of the groom preached the sermon based on Colossians 3:12-17 He emphasized again and again the Word of God to lead and guide them. It was a wonderful heartfelt sermon. Dick, my husband, grandfather of the groom, had three Bible readings, which he also read with warmth and affection for Megan and Tim. The readings were: Proverbs 3:3-6, Romans 8:28, 31-39, and 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a, 13. (Dick, my husband, always told Tim that “the Lord would drop a woman into his arms”, and he did! Tim met Megan when he asked for a substitute teacher when St. John’s School needed one, and they sent Megan. It was the hand of God. Megan later received a Call to Tomah, Wisconsin, where she now teaches first grade. She and Tim now live in Sparta).

But now, back to the wedding. It was fabulous! All the participants were beautiful (especially Megan, and handsome, especially our “Timmy”). For all the details about the participants, please refer to the wedding bulletin and pictures in the December, 2009, album. It was truly a fairy tale wedding, and we will never forget it. HOLLY WEISS, MATTHEW’S FIANCEE’, WAS SITTING NEXT TO ME IN THE PEW, SO WHILE PICTURES WERE BEING TAKEN, I ASKED HER, “HAVE YOU AND MATT SET A WEDDING DATE? IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN SHE SAID, “YES, AUGUST 13, 2010”. I was shocked because I knew that I probably was one of the few people who knew that yet. Wow! That means that there will be three grandsons who will be married in 2010, God willing.

The reception at the Radisson Hotel in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, was also fabulous! It was held in a huge room with wonderful chandeliers and seating for at least two hundred people. The food was delectable! The speeches were great! Everything could not have been more perfect and wonderfully done. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thank you, Megan, and Tim, from the bottom of our hearts. We are also grateful to Megan’s parents, Mary and Michael Paggi, and to Tim’s parents, our son, Timothy, Sr., and Susan for everything they did for your lovely wedding. As I said to both of you when someone was making a video for you and stuck a microphone in my face – “Let God be your Guide, throughout your marriage.”

Melody and Steve took us back and forth to Sparta in Steve’s very comfortable car. It was part of their Christmas gift to us. They also booked a room for us at the Radisson Hotel in LaCrosse for Saturday night – after the wedding reception. Dick and I slept in a king-size Sleep Number bed that night. It is adjustable to one’s preference as to softness or hardness – what a treat! Thank you, Melody and Steve, for your thoughtfulness.
